I just wanted to give the Mississippi State Aerospace Department a heads up on all the job openings we currently have over here in Huntsville. The NASA workload is ever-increasing due to the new CLV and CEV, and all the support contractors are staffing up to meet the demand. The company I work for, Jacobs Engineering, is the primary contractor on the NASA Engineering, Science, and Technical Services (ESTS) Contract here at Marshall Space Flight Center. In the past year, our engineering work force on this contract has grown from a little over 400 people to almost 800 (at least 3 of those were from the MSU Aerospace Department) and does not look to be slowing any time soon. We currently have approximately 80 job openings posted on our company website for this contract, with new openings being posted every couple of weeks for both full-time engineering positions and co-ops. These postings are for Jacobs only, but there are 7 more subcontracting companies that work under us on this contract that have job openings as well (see links below).

In addition, send me your resume and I'll do whatever needs to be done to make sure the appropriate people in our human resources department have a hard copy of it sitting on their desk. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at any time or send me an email (see phone numbers and email address below) and I'll be more than happy to help you out with any questions/concerns you might have. Take care and Go State!

I thought I would let you know that Goodrich Aerospace is looking for new
graduates in the Aerospace field and composites knowledge is always a plus. I
am actually in a hands on composites class Monday through Thursday this week
for Goodrich training. They have an AFP (advanced fiber placement) machine up
here at their Riverside plant where they do a lot of composites work, and it is
pretty impressive. They are laying up inner fixed structure for the 787 with
it. Anyway, maybe for some of the graduates would like to move to San Diego
for a job. They pay well and have a decent relocation package. Let me know if
you know anyone that may be interested. Hope all is going well.

Talk to you later,
Matt DelConte
My name is Brian McDonald, and I'm looking for some May graduates that are interested in manned spaceflight. As a Branch Chief in NASA's Mission Operations Directorate, my personnel are flight controllers and instructors who are responsible for the International Space Station's Motion Control System (guidance, navigation, control, and propulsion). Not only do we need smart, hard-working people, we're looking for engineers that have exceptional communications and integration skills. These folks will literally be flying the ISS, and training the astronaut crews and other flight controllers.

As an MSU alum (Aero, class of `96), I'm well aware of the outstanding program that you have there. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of us Dawgs out here in Houston. I'm hoping that you can help me start changing that. If you have anyone that you could recommend, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to write or call.
